    Don't call me Coach

Labels. We’ve all got some: woman, wife, sister, daughter, job title. We assign value to our labels, and from time to time change them up: wife might become divorcee, job title might be replaced with a new one. And our list of labels seems to grow as we do: parent is added for some of us, or an upgrade to Professor from student. Labels are all around us and we each have plenty of them. One label I’ve been increasingly uncomfortable with, and that I have a particular disdain f

    Change the Tune!

2020 feels like it’s been going forever, right?! The news feels the same, and it’s on every channel. Shopping is done online, and I can’t smell and touch my fruit to decide which piece I want. And I’ve just about come to the end of every streaming service because I’m not going out (oh who am I kidding….I’m a home body at the best of times). But my point is, this has been a strange year. And for some people, it’s been a terrifying and overwhelming year in which they have lost

    Welcome to the Pity Party

Ever have one of those days where you feel like a complete and utter failure? Hint….the answer is YES. Of course you bloody have. You’re only human. You might even be having one today like me. It happens to all of us. Objectively we know that we’re not the colossal losers that we feel like – I mean, if we sit here and take stock we can agree that we all successfully achieve things (hell, we’re alive for one) but subjectively it feels like we just suck….at eeeeeverything. Why I'm gifting myself 12 months away from Instagurus

It’s been a stressful few months. Dad had a massive stroke and we very nearly lost him. My businesses changed shape (though this has been a really positive and exciting thing so stay tuned). I left a small consulting role because it was no longer a good ethical fit. My anxiety reared its head and has required medication and treatment for the first time in over a decade. And finally….I got the flu. Sometimes life takes us in twisted directions that we didn’t ask to go down. Ac

    A Coffee with...Belinda Downes

Belinda Downes is a very funny, and smart woman! I first saw Belinda a few months ago when she appeared on ABC's 'You Can't Ask That', where she and her fellow interviewees were answering the questions that you 'can't ask' about facial difference. It was pretty obvious from her appearance on the program that Belinda was a woman with a good sense of humour AND a solid message to get across. Shortly after, her Facebook page @coffeewithbelindadownes showed up in my feed and I re

    A Coffee with...Kieran Flanagan

Kieran Flanagan is one of the smartest, wittiest, and well…most awesome women I’ve met! A wiz in the advertising world – in fact, she is one of the few women world-wide who is recognised at such a level, Kieran is a renowned social futurist, behavioural researcher, author, educator, speaker, and half of The Impossible Institute. Outside of work, her roles are just as busy and varied – Kieran’s a passionate Sydney-sider, mother, wife, friend, and night-owl. Kieran is a passion

    A Coffee with...Linda Drummond

Linda Drummond is a very cool woman. She’s the ex-journalist who's interviewed the rich and famous and reported on serious health news-turned-writer and social media expert-turned-passionate Novocastriaphile-turned-social activist. She is also the self-described ‘curly haired feminist’, ‘cycle pootler’, and lover of all things French. When SPC Ardmona were struggling a few years back and had been denied a Govt assistance package, they were at breaking point. Inspired by a con

40 and Fabulous - reclaiming your career mojo (upcoming workshop)

40 and fabulous? You bet you are! In sooo many ways. In ways that I can't even adequately describe in words! But maybe you're not feeling it...at least in your career. And you're NOT alone. It is in fact really common for women to go through ups and downs. But what can we do when our mojo is low? How can we reclaim that excitement and drive that we once had for our career...and greater zest for life? Chances are, your goals and dreams have changed significantly since your tee

    A (virtual) Coffee with...Carolyn Creswell

I was lucky enough to meet Carolyn following a breakfast seminar in August 2015. Her keynote speech was simply inspirational. She talked about the truth behind the myth of the ‘overnight success’ (hint: there’s no such thing); building resilience; and the importance of giving back. She spoke eloquently, was engaging and a really entertaining speaker. But what impressed me most, was how ‘normal’ she seemed, and how her advice about business and life just resonated so much with
